Smoked the pyramid from this line a couple days ago. I liked it about as well as Stogie Guys. Didn't pick up the same flavors....more sweet that anything. Good stick though.

The guy that said a 5 Vegas "A" is comparable to the Partagas Black is dead wrong. The Partagas is a far superior smoke to the 5 Vegas. The 5 Vegas is way too tame and lacks the rich flavor I thought it would have. You can get the Clasico size at Cigars International for about $3.50 a stick when you buy a box. Excellent value. The Partagas Black is my favorite full bodied cigar. I've yet to find anything that compares and I've tried alot of smokes.

[...] And that’s the sad case with the Escudo Cubano Maduro. I was hoping that the $2.20 Toro (six inches by 50 ring gauge) would bear a reasonable resemblance to a Partagas Black, but I’m sorry to say this cigar just isn’t worth your time or money. [...]

I would like to say that I've been a fan of this line since they came out with them. I loved the regular partagas serie D and decided to give these a try once and have been buying a box every once and a while since then. I just can't seem to keep any in my humidor though. I an investigating the problem as we speak and have another box on the way.

The best man at my wedding, who has been my friend for over 27 years now (keep in mind we're both only 29) just had himself a baby girl.

So l ran across the street to the Westfield/Century City Shopping Center and picked up one of these bad boys at the magazine stand/tobacco retailer. I wasn't sure what I was paying for and just hoped it would be a quality cigaro. Well after reading your posts and reading the review, I feel comfortable that he is receiving a nice little gift. I did pay a cool $16, but it was Century City afterall!

I can't wait to get off work and deliver it to him at the hospital.. and see his little girl. I guess I'm an uncle.. of sorts.

Nice site.. very classy.

I have been smoking the Partagas Black Maximo cigar since 2003. In the beggining it was not hard to get the cigar. Then about 2006 the cigar supplier I used said it was becoming more and more famous with cigar smokers. Now my supplier has not been able to get a box for over four weeks and the other day she said that the people who supply her said that they were holding onto them for a big show in Texas this weekend, 8-5-07. Now that’s the way to treat your customers. I have started to look for another cigar that will not be hard to get. This is not the way to treat your customers. Just to back this up. A supplier I was buying from in Albuquerque NM told me about a year and a half ago that the cigar was becoming hard to get and that when he attended the cigar show in Las Vegas the rep’s there said to him that Partgas was not taking on any more stores because it could not keep up with demand.

[...] The Partagas Spanish Rosado is a beautiful cigar. The oily cinnamon-tinged color of the Honduran wrapper from the San Agustin Valley and the slightly floral notes from the unlit foot promise an enjoyable smoke. And they deliver. I got the Rosado – a 5.5 inch by 52 ring gauge stick called the San Agustin – in a buy-two-get-one-free sampler package from Partagas. It also contained a Black Label Classico and a Partagas Naturales. I don’t recall exactly what I paid, but I believe it was a mere $9 or $10. I’ve enjoyed a number of Partagas Blacks, but this was my first Rosado. It most definitely will not be my last. The filler is a mix of Dominican, Honduran and Mexican tobaccos, while the binder is Connecticut broadleaf. Mine was packed tightly with some heft. The prelight draw felt a little tight, but once the cigar was burning the draw was excellent. The smoke was rich and full. At the first puff, there was sweetness, followed quickly by a spicy finish. Both came and went throughout the smoke, as did some citrus notes and an underlying warm tobacco taste. I believe it was the slowest burning cigar I’ve ever had. In fact, I would be inclined to try one of the smaller ring gauges to see if they moved a little quicker. The burn was the only problem I had with the Agustin. Several times, in the last half, the wrapper burned unevenly, requiring a touchup once General lists the price for a single San Agustin at $5.55 (before taxes). On the Internet, you can find a box of 25 for less than $100. All in all, this is a top-quality cigar at a price lower than might be expected. [...]
