Well maybe one day they'll do us some justice and make morbidly obese people pay a huge health insurance surcharge because of their high risk for health complications. While we're at it people who don't exercise 30 minutes a day, they aren't the optimum working machine now are they? If you let the government pick out a target and completely erradicate(ie oppress in taxes or employment) it is similar to genocide, it'll eventually choose your niche.

[...] Here at StogieGuys.com we’ve always pointed out that if a government program is really in the public’s best interest, it would not be necessary to tax a small already discriminated-against minority such as smokers. Additionally there has been relatively little discussion about the fact that a tobacco tax funding health insurance creates a perverse government interest in ensuring that there are enough people smoking to maintain funding of the program.
[...] We’ve long argued against punitive tobacco taxes – which we‘ve noted are simply picking on a minority already pays more than its fair share, but this proposal blows all other proposed tax increases out of the water. And even if you think that SCHIP is something worth funding, you should still oppose a regressive tax on tobacco that picks on a small and already discriminated against group. [...]

John Smith-
I was actually tking you seriously until I came to the end: "the entire argument that smokers are being discriminated against is ridiculous, and the idea that private business can make decisions on such issues as allowing smoking in restuarants, bars and other public buildings is downright fascist"

You're just a dumbass!
