Below $5 for a world-class cigar is quite possible and this stick is just that. You have to do things very right, I would imagine, to keep a healthy margin maintained to do so. With a company owned by a family there is a tremendous amount of pride and control of product from seed to retail that can really work in the customers favor of getting a superior product at an affordable price. Vertical integration in the cigar business seems to be what the Oliva brand has achieved resulting in consistently good cigars at some of the most reasonable, if not lowest, prices out there. Yes, you can find a "yard gar" at a lower price and you will likely not care to remember or repeat that, but buy an Oliva Series G and I'd bet you'll be as pleased as the review above suggests.

The Series G Maduro Churchill can sometimes be purhased as low as in the mid-three dollar range making it a real "recommended best buy". It wouldn't shame itself right up against some of the $7 sticks from H. Upmann, R&J, and Macanudo. I know folks who prefer it and I'm not talking for price reasons, it is that good. If it isn't as interesting or tasty as a Series V it's still pretty compelling. A more straightforward (a bit milder and less complex yet interesting) taste that delivers tremendous value is what G's deliver.
