Thank you for all the wonderful comments. Let me respond to Cigar Jack by saying that I gave this cigar two stogies because it was slightly better than some of the horrendous sticks that only earned one and 1/2. Escudo Cubano comes to mind. But let's not get too technical here. The bottom line is La Prueba is a poor investment of time and money. While you almost always get what you pay for, there certainly are cigars out there that are undervalued gems. In my experience, most of these are boutiques. Take, for example, the Ybor City Handmades or anything by Cuban Crafters (such as J.L. Salazar and the Don Kiki Brown Label).

My brief experience so far has been, you get what you pay for. If it’s not the flavor that’s lacking, then it’s problems with cigar construction. I haven’t been smoking long enough to discover the cheaper gems.
