As ugly as this may sound, I am a 20 yr cigar smoker who suffers from occasional bouts of asthma. (seasonal). Living in Phoenix with our spring/summer ozone alerts and fall/winter inversions it makes it tough to always enjoy a med-full bodied stogie. Although they will never admit to it, a R.T. from the Mayo on Shea Blvd., Scottsdale told me about the Acid brand a few yrs back and how it was a good alternative in times of lung stress. I don't expect the AMA or FDA to agree, but certain sticks from the Acid line keep you breathing just about normally. My favs: 1400cc, Infusion, Kuba Maduro. A bit much for me: Blondie, and Kuba Deluxe. Drew Estates breaks you out of your old fart way of life which really isn't a bad thing. But I still love a MonteCristo 2 --or when out of country "any" Diplomaticos at a beach bar while I sip rum and ponder the future of Fidel.

I am a huge Maduro cigar enthusiast! Medium to full body cigars are my forte: Partagas, Hoyo de Monterey, Flor de A. Allones, Romeo y Julieta…just to name a few. When I first was introduced to Acid cigars, my best friend gave me the “low down” on them. He was very clear in letting me know that Acids are nothing like the status quo. They are flavored and they are “syrupy” so keep that in mind when you smoke them.

So I did keep all of that in mind. I have to say I did like it even though the flavor was strong and it was difficult to taste the tobacco because the other flavors were over powering. But I did enjoy the “change up” from the norm.

I kind of see this like when I drink a beer…there are times where I am in a Guinness mood and once in a while I’ll do a Black-n-Tan to change it. But then there are times I’m in the mood for Dos Equis Amber on Tap and that is all I would drink for a period of time just to change things up.

I do like the Acids smell (and so does my wife) and the taste is consistence throughout the entire smoke which is better than most “flavored” cigars out there. (I do not smoke any other flavored cigar but Acids, tried others and didn’t like them).

If you are looking for tobacco only flavored cigars then Acids are not what you are looking for. If you are looking for a fun change in your everyday cigar rut…then you may want to try the Acids for that change up.

I recently bought this cigar not knowing it was infused, but just wanting to try all the cigars in the world. I was disgusted as soon as I put it in my mouth, but figured I should be open minded and give it a chance. I was disappointed when that super sweet taste did not dissipate. It was impossible to taste the actual tobacco and until I read this review I was convinced that I had just purchased a bad cigar and that I might want to try it again - thank God I didn't make that mistake again.

You are right. Drew Estate Cigars are really good and worth their money.I think they deserve their place in any collection and / or humidor.

I like the acid cigars by Drew Estate. They never disappointed me and their price is not too high. I prefer the acid kuba kuba the most.

I really enjoyed the Kuba Deluxe. Although I am still very much so a new cigar smoker, I still find that the Kuba Deluxe has been my favorite so far. I, however, am rather young [19]. I actually found the cigar in a shop and decided to spend a decent amount on a celebratory cigar to commerate the ending of my freshman year of college. At the time, I didn't even know what "cutting" a cigar was, to let you know how unexperienced I was. But, I held on to my Kuba Deluxe for about a month, smoked several cigars in that time and learned to appreciate some of the finer details of cigars. I did end up smoking my Kuba Deluxe and, as I said, I loved it. It seemed to have three distinct flavors, a sweet beginning, an oaky middle, and a spicy ending.

I would highly recommend, but I'm not quite the aficionado that some others might be.

I really enjoyed the Kuba Kuba, I like a good Rocky Patel as well, but I found the Acid line to be a pleasant change of pace from the "traditional" cigar. It certainly is something that many won't like, but I would encourage everyone to try one at least once.

Also, as a side note, If you take the cigar out of it's tube/cellophane and store it in a plastic bag away from your others, it mellows out the floral notes well, they are certainly there, but it isn't as over powering.
