Wow! A great difference of opinions on these sticks. I have some of the Classic torpedoes, 55's and some of the Gold torpedoes. I have been smoking cigars for 40 yrs. IMHO, these are "good" cigars but, not great. You cannot compare them to premium brands. It's like comparing a "Maverick" to a "Mustang". You get what you pay for. For the guy on a budget these are good everyday smokes. They're well made, burn well, have some good flavor. I have never had an issue with any of them like I have read here. Maybe I get a good batch every time. LOL. Let's face it. We all have our differences. I suggest just trying one. If you like, buy. If not, try "Spirit of Cuba" or "La Vieja Habana" . 2 other value sticks that I smoke as well.

I avoid "Cinco" Vegas Classic like the plague. The charred meat comment was spot-on. I would add that there is also a pronounced stale peanut flavor. Does CI sell a sampler that doesn’t include these?

Bought some of these based on the review here and they are pretty good. They are up there with some of my other favorites such as the Bolivar Dominican, Excalibur 1066 and others. They are a very good smoke for the money and I am always looking for good cigars at reasonable prices. I also purchased a double cigar holder at http://cigarholdershop.com for $11.95 with shipping included, and now I don’t lose any cigars on the golf course and am a very happy camper! I just smoked the 5 Vegas Classic Torpedo…I saw the references to the high acclaim from CA. It sat in my box for about 2 months. I toasted it today, and boy was it a waste of time. It was so eneventful with no taste that I left about 1/2 of it it the ashtray. If you have any of these in your box, give them to “a friend”.

IMO this is their worst smoke. I think the 3 rating is just about right. The 5 Vegas Relic is a much better version of this and the Gold is pound for pound one of the more flavorful mild smoks on the market.

The 5 Vegas Classic Fifty-Five has been a staple in my humidor for years. I usually buy them at auction and allow them to rest for 6-8 months before smoking. Along with with the Flor de Oliva, this favorite has earned it's place as an exceptional value everyday medium smoke.

well my experience with 5 vegas is hit or miss…the 5 vegas gold line is a very good smoke…however the series A, red label and Miami were not really that good..

I bought a 10 pack sampler of 5 vegas red label from C.I., and I can tell you that they were so bad that you could not pay me to smoke them..the Miami was the same…terrible…the $1.99 "cuban rejects" sandwich filler cigars I get were 10 times better

Thanks for the review! I really enjoy a lot of the the 5 Vegas line. I'm a little surprised with what is being said about the 5 Vegas Knuckle. I really like that particular line from 5 Vegas. Honestly, I think it's my favorite Corojo wrapped cigar. It's definitely worth a try. I also like their new 5 Vegas Relic too. It's a delicious Dominican puro.

Nice review of the classic, though the way it read compared to the score, I thought it deserved another 1/2 a smoke. But that's just nitpicking.

I didn't read the 5 Vegas Miami review, but I get the impression that it wasn't well received. I have to agree. But I also feel the same way about the 5 Vegas Gold (though it seems to be quite a seller.) I go out of my way to avoid any samplers with those two products in it. The 5 Vegas A line, however, is one of my favorites and a cigar I find to be the most consistently enjoyable. So don't dismiss 5 Vegas completely if you didn't like one of their lines, give a couple others a chance.
