I agree with a lot of your review. I had heard a lot of good things about the “My Father” and was eager to try it. I had this exact size and didn’t think it was worth the money. Maybe a nice $6 cigar, but not $12.

CJ- I agree that Oliva does a great cigar for a great price. Whether you want a mild in their Conn. a decent Cameroon with a touch of spice in the Serie G, or a fuller bodied (yet not too strong) Serie V, they all give good flavor and sell for a great price.

Iliked the 68 when I tried it, and the 50 year Torano is really good as well. I have read posts of guys that had split wrapper on every Cain they had smoked. If you ask me, nobody does it better for the money than Oliva.

CJ-For a short robusto, and domestic made cigar for $7 is pushing the high end, IMO. For some similarly priced cigars, I’d recommend the Cain Maduro, Torano 50 year anniversary, and even a Perdomo Patriarch Maduro.

Like I originally said, I had better luck with the larger size smoke as far as depth of flavor, burn, etc. For me, it’s not that the petit robusto Le Bijou is a bad cigar, it just hasn’t hit me as a great cigar, which is what I have come to expect from Pepin cigars. The price doesn’t help any either.

Just my 2 cents.

pepin cigars are hit and miss anymore. they are great cigars unless you wind up with one of the bad ones. i have smoked about 50 of this size about 25 supurb,about 10 something isn’t right and about 15 i wish i had bought something else. quality control is HUGE. when padilla and pepin split padilla kept saying “i need control of my product” .maybe he knew something we didn’t. the padilla 68 is one of the best cigars for the price down here in miami. i hope pepin gets the quality under control.

Wow! I tend to disagree with everyone here so far. Every one I have smoked from my box so far have been fantastic. Burn and draw are perfect, even with the smallest clip on the cap. If every cigar were made like these, that would be heavenly.
Hey mighty, what is so much better for $7? My box priced out to be much less than that per stick as well. I do still like the original My Father better, but the Le Bijou ages well.

On this cigar, I had better luck with the larger size. Unfortunately, this also raises the price to almost $12. For some reason I wanted to like this stogie, but it just isn’t as good as other similarly priced cigars.

I've noticed some some similar construction issues on Pepin sticks lately. Hope it's not a trend.
