Quick Smoke: 5 Vegas ‘A’ Torpedo

18 Feb 2007

Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.

This torpedo features a leathery, almost obscuro, wrapper that seperated from the binder a bit soon after being lit. For such a dark wrapper, the flavors were suprisingly sweet and the strength was medium-mild. It’s got potential, but didn’t quite hit the spot.

Verdict = Hold.

    Your verdict of Hold has me confused; just what does it mean? At first, I thought you were going to have this option for sticks that were okay but would need some more time to rest in the humidor; but your Maria Mancini review removed that option.

    Thanks for the question zBob.

    Buy/Sell/Hold are more like stock ratings than cigar buying advice.

    So hold really just means neither good (buy) nor poor (sell) but in between… kind of just "so-so"

(It was the subject of a February Quick Smoke.) After all, the six inch by 52 ring gauge Alpha vitola is one of my favorite everyday go-to smokes – not to ruin the ending or anything. […]
