Quick Smoke: My Father Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto

14 Jul 2012

Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief verdict on a single cigar of “buy,” “hold,” or “sell.”

MFleBijou

As a big fan of the original My Father series, I was surprisingly disappointed by the Le Bijou 1922 blend when I first tried it. I recently decided to give the line another try with hopes that I’d have a better experience. As I remember, the construction is outstanding and the Petit Robusto (4.5 x 50) is also no slouch when it comes to appearance, with a lovely Ecuadorian Habano oscuro wrapper. But the flavor falls a little flat as notes of earth and pepper fail to develop into something more complex. While the Le Bijou 1922 Petit Robusto isn’t necessarily a bad cigar, I can think of better ways to spend $7-8.

Verdict = Sell.

    That is interesting that you weren't that happy with this. I have found most people who have tried this line prefer the petit robusto as compared to the other sizes available (myself included). All good though, different strokes for different folks. Appreciate the quick review! Reminds me I need to get some quick smokes in this weekend. =)

    I enjoyed a box of these for far less than the listed price…just over $100 for a box! The construction is far better than most of the competition, and time to smoke and flavor made me love the white box even more. I'd smoke one of these and his new blend back to back no problem! CJ
