Quick Smoke: Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta Serie No. 13
27 Dec 2012
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief verdict on a single cigar of “buy,†“hold,†or “sell.†This Quick Smoke is part of our “Win a Big Box of Cigar Swag” contest. The No. 13 Lancero is the fifth size in Joya de Nicaragua’s Cabinetta, a line that boasts Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos along with dual wrappers (Ecuadorian shade and Nicaraguan criollo). It measures 7.5 inches long with a ring gauge of 38 and retails for just under $8. As un-traditional as it may look, the cigar has a classic profile of toast, cream, coffee, nut, and spice. Construction is top-notch, and the mild- to medium-bodied flavor pairs well with a morning cup of joe.
Verdict = Buy.

Looks good. Will keep an eye out for these.
That is an interesting stick. I had a different JdN stick and it was just OK. Sounds like that long skinny one might be better. I might have to give JdN another try.
I have had Joya de Nicaragua cigars before and really enjoyed them, so this one sounds like my next one. Sounds like it would pair great with a strong cup of coffee
this sounds good gonna have to get my hands on these!!
One of my favorite blends from JDN! I enjoy the #4’s (Robusto) and #11’s (Corona) also.
Good in the morning with coffee or in the evening with a Scotch for a change of pace to a medium body cigar that are different from JDN’s Antaño 1970’s and Antaño Dark Corojo’s. Will have to give the #13’s a try too!
I'm down to try just about any lancero out there. Sounds like a good stick.
Always find your reviews good information, will have to try these.
Dr. Cuenca has an incredible enthusiasm for Nicaraguan tobacco. I prefer other Joya lines but will always try to keep a few boxes of his products on hand. Thanks for the quick review.
Thanks Patrick, sounds like a good cigar, have not smoked any of the Joya de Nicaragua's.
I love these even though they're a little hard to find. The #11 is great as well.
Excellent smoke, have to go to Atl to get mine
Lancero is one of my favourite vitolas, so I must try this one.
