Quick Smoke: Don Kiki White Label Churchill
Sunday, May 6th, 2007Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.

Here’s another gem you can’t find at your local B&M, but should waste no time ordering online. This seven inch by 50 ring gauge Don Kiki White Label is a standout smoke from Cuban Crafters. Harvested back in 2000, Cuban-seed Habano long-filler tobacco and a shade-grown Connecticut wrapper combine to create smooth hay and almond notes. About halfway through a nice spice kicks in, rendering this more interesting than your average mild smoke. While the delicate wrapper has some tendency to tear, this premium boutique stogie is still exceptional – especially when you consider the price.
Verdict = Buy.

for people who carry the don kiki line in the store you can get the white label. my friend has a store in st. augustine fl. and he has the cigars. its a great cigar i agree.
Timothy,
Thanks for clearing that up. What I meant to write is that MOST of us will have to order Don Kikis online because MOST B&Ms do not carry them.

Stewardship is now in the hands of Henry “Don Kiki” Berger. Production has shifted from Cuba to Nicaragua. And the brand name has even changed from La Carolina to Cupido and back. [...]
[...] “What would really hit the spot,” I thought, “is a nice cigar.” Unfortunately, all the stogies we packed for the trip – a generous supply of Gurkha Expedition Torpedos, Cuban Crafters Cabinet Selection Toros, CAO Criollo Patos, and various Don Kiki lines – were packed in checked luggage and therefore inaccessible during the layover. [...]
[...] At the amazing price of less than $2 apiece when bought by the box, the cigar is advertised as well-balanced with floral notes of licorice, spice, earth, toasted nuts, and cocoa – much fuller than the White Label. Before lighting my first Brown up, I remember thinking, “If this sub-$2 stogie packs all those flavors, I’m going to have a new favorite everyday smoke.” [...]
