Quick Smoke: Punch Rare Corojo Crystale 2007
17 May 2008
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.

This is a handsome torpedo with a firm, yet supple texture and a lovely colorado hue. The draw is a bit too tight, and strong vegetal notes tend to overwhelm the otherwise-leathery flavor. Overall, the tobacco seems very young, but shows long-term promise. I’d suggest storing this cigar for at least a year, if not longer, before smoking it. As they say with tannin-rich red wines, this one “needs some time.â€
Verdict = Hold.

I agree with aging this cigar, however it does taste great now as well.
