Quick Smoke: Padrón Serie 1964 Exclusivo Maduro
9 Nov 2008
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.
After a fantastic dinner of steak and lobster, I wanted an equally fine post-dinner cigar. This robusto-sized (5.5x 50) Padrón Anniversary was up to the task. With smooth, flavorful earth notes of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate, it was delightful with a few fingers of Johnnie Walker Gold Label. Like most Padrón Anniversary cigars, the burn was even, the ash sturdy, and the draw firm but flawless.
Verdict = Buy.

Hey guys,
Great review, and this is a good smoke indeed.
Three days ago with some friends,
Nino in Gremany
Rick in Texas
and myself,Guy in France,
smoked a cigar at the same time, just for the fun,
than we said, why not do this worldwide.
So, this Sunday we have asked the WORLD to join
us in celabration of a new Prez in the USA, NO MATTER WHO WON, by having a smoke worldwide
and to take a Pic.

Sounds like a perfect evening to me. Great choice for an after dinner smoke.
Great cigar, but I'm interested on peoples' thoughts the maduro vs. natural of the 64.
I've had both – Maduro & Natural. Both are excellent and both are worth smoking. Can't say much more other than the 1964 is an excellent cigar.
Franky-
While I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Padron 1964s (and clearly I enjoyed this maduro 1964), I actually prefer the natural.
@ Franky
I prefer the Maduro over the natural. But my brother prefers the reverse. One thing we agree on, the 1964 is probably the best cigar you can buy. Better or at least equal to any cuban we've had.
I'm a natural guy – but sometimes the natural wrappers are pretty difficult to visually distinguish from the naturals.
I'm admittedly a beer connoisseur and not a cigar one, but I just had the Anniversary over the weekend and was absolutely floored by it.
