Quick Smoke: Don Pepin Garcia Series JJ Sublime
19 Apr 2009
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.
I had heard a lot of good things about this Corojo-wrapped Nicaraguan puro, not the least of which was my colleague’s December 2007 of the Belicoso vitola. But while I agree that the medium-bodied flavor of wood, leather, vanilla, coffee, and spice is appealing, I remain unconvinced of this six inch by 54 ring gauge cigar’s lofty price tag of $12 per single.
Verdict = Hold.

If you really paid $12 for that cigar…you got ripped off. They are consistently around the 8-9 dollar range in the Midwest.
I'm sure that the price has to do with taxes in your state, but one thing that has to be realized is that these are rolled in Miami which is alot more expensive than having Nicaraguans roll it. I think it's worth the price to have Americans rolling your cigar. Not to mention it's a great cigar.
pepin smokes have become to unpredictable and over priced
Mike,
I sincerely disagree with your statement. I think Fuente products have become very inconsistent and unpredictable. I think Pepin's stuff has become the "new" Fuente…in my humble opinion.
brandon to each his own try the el titan de bronze redemption made across the street for $5 i park infront of el rey and buy over there
Guess I'd be a little skeptical too at $12 a stick, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every Don Pepin Garcia cigar I've tried. Maybe they're more satisfiying at $7-8…
jimmy you should try and get the jjs that are rolled in miami instead of the nica jjs they cost a bit more but when you get a good one its good but lately they are inconsistant the nica ones are all good solid $6 smokes but living in miami i just have to many choices of cigars rolled by cubans instead of nicas or hondurans or whoever but like i said before to each his own
