Quick Smoke: Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles
25 Apr 2009
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.
This 5 inch by 50 ring gauge robsuto is an attractive smoke with a light brown, largely vein-free wrapper. After some initial bitterness, it settles into a smooth, medium-bodied smoke with honey flavors, a mild cedary core, and some floral notes. But the Nobles left a slightly sour taste in my mouth. The draw is a bit airy, the burn is straight, and the white ash solid. You can expect to pay around $7 each.
Verdict = Hold.

another pepin cigar that has become inconsistent its painful
These really can be great sometimes but they are indeed very inconsistent. I've purchased many of these, as well as the Miami line, and found the Havana varies the most from stick to stick. I've had some that wore dark wrappers and some that wore light wrappers. The first I tried were verys peppery while the more recent sticks were mild and full of sweet coffee notes. The last one I tried was a dud and aside from some pepper was like sucking air.
