Quick Smoke: Fonseca Habana Selección Toro

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief take on a single cigar.

Rustic wrapper surrounds a solidly constructed Toro. The band is sloppily applied. Simple earth and cedar flavors. While at first I thought it was a real dud, after about an inch it turned into a pleasant mild-bodied smoke with excellent combustion qualities.

Verdict = Hold.

    FYI, after little more than a year in my humidor, the flavors broaden out while the finish picks up extra richness, especially in the Seleccion #1 (7″ x 50) size. The Toro does NOT improve as much!

    You nailed it on the flavors of this cigar. Thanks for all your efforts.
