Quick Smoke: Sencillo Platinum Robusto
19 Feb 2012
Each Saturday and Sunday we’ll post a Quick Smoke: not quite a full review, just our brief verdict on a single cigar of “buy,†“hold,†or “sell.â€
From Keith K. Park, the man who launched the high-dollar God of Fire, the Sencillo Platinum (Spanish for simple) is a Honduran puro aimed further down the line at the everyday cigar level. I found it milder than I would have expected, with earth and wood notes predominating. I had some minor burn issues and the draw was very open. According to the Sencillo site, each of the six sizes presents a different flavor profile. If you’re looking for something a little different, pick up one of these. The Robusto (5.25 x 50) lists at $7.95.
Verdict = Buy.

Ever since I had tried this cigar I have thoroughly enjoyed it! The Robusto is my favorite size in the Sencillo Platinum. For me it's one of those cigars that allow my palate to appreciate the fine blending of what a cigar should represent.
Darryl – Sounds like you just the sort of smoker they had in mind when they put this cigar together. I haven't tried any of the larger sizes. What did you think of them?
George I've only tried the Robusto and the Double Robusto. I enjoy both and found the DR a tad milder. Because I like the Robusto size so much I never felt the need to try the other sizes. I purchased the DR thinking I would get the same results, and they were at an affordable price. I'll smoke both but my preference is the Robusto!
I'd agree with buy, for a mild every day smoke these are great, nice flavor, decent construction and agreeable price. I've only had the robusto, I'll have to try one of the others to see how different it is.
